Candlelight Contemplation
An evening with the work of Mary Catherine Solberg
By candlelight, the gallery becomes a different room entirely. Move through Mary Catherine’s exhibition slowly, without conversation to fill the space, and the layered compositions and gold leaf catch the light differently after dark, revealing details that are easy to miss in the bright buzz of opening night.
No guided tour and no script, just you and the work
POTENTIAL is an art gallery and event venue in one space, so for this evening we dim the room and let the art set the pace.
Arrive and settle
The gong opens the evening with a short centering meditation to quiet the room before anyone moves.
Move through slowly
Spread out through the gallery at your own pace while live music fills the space, with craft NA mocktails by Curious Elixirs and a few light bites early on.
Look again
Every so often the gong rings with a simple invitation to see the work a little differently, and you can follow it or keep wandering.
Close together
We gather back as a group to end the evening in a short closing circle before the room opens back up to conversation.
Mary Catherine Solberg
Mary Catherine’s layered, intricate compositions are best seen in person, where the small details and the gold leaf catching the light draw you into a real conversation with each piece.
