The Omo Collection grew from my fascination with Giovanna Aryafara’s extraordinary photographs of the Suri people of Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. With her permission, I reinterpret selected portraits through my own visual language—layering paint, texture, color, and symbolic imagery to create contemporary icons that celebrate beauty, resilience, and our connection to the natural world. The collection honors the original photography and the remarkable artistry and spirit of the Suri people while transforming each portrait into something distinctly my own.
